I've got this accent
In my head
Where people smile
And they ask me where I'm from
Deluded, convinced
Like children who believe what they're told
"This is where I'm from,
Can't you tell?"
Don't you believe me?
I've got these words
In my head
Decorating my sentences
With metaphorical ribbons and
"I'm-so-smart" lace, frills around the edges
So people are awed
Astoned and impressed by my vast knowledge
Like children
I've got guilty pleasures
In my head
With changing myself
For people, to see people
Fall back in their years
To act like the children they all used to be
Believing everything
Because there was never a need
To believe in decieving

"I'm-so-smart" lace, frills around the edges" this sentence made me smile. I think I will have to come back to read this a few times, digest it, and then read it again. I'm really fond of it.
